Giulio Aristide Sartorio (Rome 1860 - 1932) in 1924, with his friend Giovanni Giurati, made a long journey in the countries of South America, representing them in paintings and works that are distinguished by the immediacy of the reportage. In his archive is preserved a slide made on the ruins of Tiahuanaco from which he painted the picture here proposed.
